TONICS are preparations that are used to help restore, tone, strengthen and invigorate a person’s health in general. They build up and promote all-around health and well-being although some tonics may act on a particular organ or system. Tonics can be made from a variety of substances, typically are taken for weeks or months and their action tends to be slow and steady. They can be viewed as preventative, taking a tonic daily may help to keep the body in good health. This is not a dramatic increase in health but a daily maintenance to keep the body running smoothly. If there is an organ or system that has been weakened tonics can help restore it to greater health. An assessment of areas of weakness will help you to decide on what tonics may be helpful for you.

NUTRITION is one of the basics of good health. What one eats has a great effect on one's health. In the past foods were grown in a natural way and consumed whole. Today foods may not be grown in a natural way with many herbicides, pesticides and chemicals added. There may be drugs that get added to feed or given to livestock. Along with this many of the foods we eat today are processed in ways that may strip them of the nutrients they contain and many non-nutritive additives are mixed in with processed foods. Although it may seem like we have more healthful foods, if we do not choose wisely in what foods we eat we may not get the nutrition we need and we may adversely impact our health. So one of the basics of good health is understanding what our bodies need, what they are lacking and knowing how to get the appropriate nutrition. Nutrition is emphasized as needing to treat one's body with the utmost respect by honoring what one puts into one's body. There is not one diet for everyone...but it is important when healing that one's body gets the essential nutrients and does not have to do extra work getting rid of toxins from foods. I consider nutrition an essential part of everyone's health and will help guide you in understanding what your body needs and what foods supply it.
