STRESS MANAGEMENT is an integral part of maintaining good health. Many diseases seen today are related to high stress in people's lives. I offer an in-depth course of stress management, typically in classes but individual lessons are also available. The approach used is one developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. It is a Mindfulness-Based Stress Management Program. The Program is offered several times throughout the year and typically involves 6-8 sessions over a period of several months. Techniques and tools are practiced for several weeks in between classes to give individuals experience in applying and reinforcing what is learned. Near the end of the sessions a half-day retreat may be offered to help individuals further hone their skills. The key to reducing stress is learning to work with one's mind and emotions. You can learn how to maintain calmness and remain centered during times of high stress. Beneficial to individuals suffering from stress, chronic illness, anxiety, depression, grief, chronic pain, interpersonal/relationship issues, workplace stress, life transitions and many other issues.
